Anita Korinsek-Porta, BSW, MACP
I am a Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Life Coach, Ericksonian Hypnotist, NLP practitioner with the degrees obtained at University of Ljubljana, and at Webster University, Geneva.
I believe in uniqueness of every individual, and everyone’s innate capacity to grow emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, towards their own goals of wellbeing, health, self-actualization, and personal fulfillment.
My experience in individual case work with adolescents, adults and group work with refugees, and alcoholic families goes back to the early nineties. Of Slovene origins, naturalized Swiss, I’ve always kept a genuine interest in other cultures, how people all over the world define and process their social and personal challenges. Variety of cultures, different ways of living, individuals with contrasting personal views and wisdom have always formed part of my life and they continue enriching it. I speak various languages with ease, which enables different levels of connecting with clients all over the world.

So, how do I work and how can I help?
I nurture warm and supportive relationships with my clients, and am personally very close to the humanistic counseling.
I focus my practice on providing effective psychological counseling for adults struggling with loss, anxiety, social isolation, burnout, stress related problems, cultural shock, depression, and other difficulties. I implement a variety of approaches in my area of work. My highest priority is to adapt every session to the client’s needs and their way of being.
I work with younger adults, couples as well as with individuals in advanced stages of life.
I offer courses and workshops to empower women for life changes. I talk about Grief, Anger, Anxiety, Relationship Communication, Mindfulness, Trauma, Stress relief, and more. I hold these topics very close, due to personal and professional experience, and constantly see them useful for anyone facing a burden of challenging situations at work, or in their private lives.
Body-Mind Techniques and Creative Individualized Approach to move you forward
I became a QiGong instructor to inspire, especially women, to lead a healthy life, and to bring awareness of the body-mind connection to anyone who might be in an immediate need. I offer courses online and locally in the open air.
It is in my nature to embrace work with individuals from any culture, any sexual orientation and societal background
I work with people who decide to seek confidential, reliable support, and walk accompanied to the level of functioning where life becomes brighter again. In the two roles of support, as a counselor and coach, I find richness and complementary elements. In counseling sessions, our focus moves from exploring and understanding the past events and situation that brought client to the current situation, towards testing and exploring new, more useful ways of functioning to assure them a thriving future.
Coaching, on the other hand, departs directly into finding best strategies to achieve a specific life goal. We’ll verify what is already working and build from there. Coaching may be seen as more dynamic in the sense of staring forward work on creating a reasonable plan, strategies, and using tools that may already be in place, to get the process moving towards that desired goal. Both dynamics of work are extremely useful, depending on the client’s need.
I dedicate my free time to continuing education, to assure learning of new approaches in all areas of my work.

I believe that there is nothing better than a personal encounter, and I also believe that an online consultation can be an excellent alternative for anyone who cannot find a counselor or a coach in the area of where they live. It isn’t important how or where you seek support, as long as you find a professional whose qualities and personality suit you well as a support on your path through personal growth.
Online sessions are equally efficient and confidential. They often offer more scheduling flexibility to better suit client’s needs.
I strongly believe that each individual carries those inherent resources that enable us to deal with all what life brings. I like to think about my approach as flexible, as I apply to each client a technique personally evaluated as most useful and appropriate for their situation, always tailored to best suit my client’s needs.
I apply Cognitive Behavioral and Acceptance and Commitment therapeutic tools, Mindfulness, NLP, EFT, Eïnotherapy techniques, Ericksonian Hypnosis, and more.
